    Sign up and sign in

The console will be at https://api.theunderstanding.company/console. Sign up with an email and a password of at least 10 characters. A new account starts with $5 of free credit.

    API keys

    • Make a key and copy it then: it’s shown once, and we keep only a hash of it.
    • Keys start with usk_live_. An account can hold up to 10 active keys.
    • One key works for the HTTP API and the MCP server.
    • Revoke a key and it stops working on its next call.

    Keys and authentication

    Connected apps

Each app you approve by signing in, such as an assistant connected through OAuth, is listed with when it was last used. Disconnect one and its access and refresh tokens stop working at once. Access tokens start with uat_ and last an hour; the app refreshes them.

    Usage

Requests, input tokens, spend and credit left for the last 30 days, then requests by day and by decision, and your recent requests: the time, the channel, the decision, the tokens, the cost and the status. Never what you sent.

    Playground

Run any named decision, or your own question, as your account. It’s metered like an API call, so it uses credit, and it takes up to 30 requests a minute.

    Usage from code

GET /v1/usage returns the same figures for your key: requests, input tokens, cost and credit left, over 1 to 90 days (30 by default).

    Bash
    curl "$UNDERSTANDING_API_URL/v1/usage?days=30" \
      -H "Authorization: Bearer $UNDERSTANDING_API_KEY"
