Key points

  • You connect a bank account or card from the Vueni app by choosing your bank, signing in through a secure connection step and choosing which accounts to share.

  • Vueni uses your activity to understand each purchase, find regular bills and paydays, and show the context behind your spending.

  • Calm Mode limits and pauses apply to your Vueni Card. Other connected cards add context, but Vueni cannot change their limits.

  • You can disconnect an account at any time.

Why connect other accounts

Your Vueni Card shows one part of your spending. You may also have a checking account, a savings account or another card.

When you connect them, Vueni sees more of the picture:

  • Paychecks and other money coming in.

  • Rent, bills and subscriptions going out.

  • Purchases on other cards, so a late-night order is not hidden on a different card.

With this, Vueni can spot regular bills and paydays and show how a purchase fits into your month.

Connecting an account or card

You need a Vueni account first. Vueni is invite-only while it launches in the United States, so the first step is to join the waitlist.

Then follow these steps:

  1. Open the Vueni app.

  2. Go to your connections and choose to add a bank account or card.

  3. Search for your bank or card provider.

  4. Sign in through the secure connection step that opens.

  5. Choose the accounts you want to share.

  6. Return to Vueni. Your recent activity starts to load.

The first load can take a few minutes, and you can keep using the app while it runs. Not every bank is supported in every region yet.

What Vueni reads

Vueni reads account activity. That means transactions, with the merchant, the amount and the date. It also reads balances, so it can show where you stand.

Vueni uses this information to:

  • Match purchases to email receipts and shipments.

  • Score the context around a purchase, such as the time and how many orders came before it.

  • Find repeat payments, like rent and subscriptions.

  • Show an expected balance for the days ahead.

Can Vueni limit spending on my other cards?

No. Calm Mode can only act on your Vueni Card. It can suggest a lower per-purchase limit or, if you turn on automatic Calm Mode, pause the Vueni Card for a few hours.

Your other cards stay as they are. Their purchases still add context. For example, if you place two orders on another card and then a third on your Vueni Card, Vueni can see that it is your third order in a few hours.

Disconnecting an account

In the Vueni app, open your connections, choose the account and disconnect it.

After you disconnect, Vueni stops reading new activity from that account. You can connect it again later.

What if my bank asks me to sign in again?

Banks sometimes end a connection for security reasons, for example after you change your password. When this happens, Vueni asks you to reconnect. Follow the same steps and sign in again.

What if I cannot find my bank?

Not every bank or card provider is available yet. If yours is missing, try searching for its full name or its parent company. If it is still missing, you can use Vueni with your Vueni Card and your other connections in the meantime.

What if some accounts are missing?

You may have chosen only some accounts during sign-in. Go back to your connections, choose the bank and update which accounts you share.

Does connecting an account move my money?

No. Connecting an outside account lets Vueni read it. Your money stays where it is.
