Key points
Connecting health data to a money app can be safe if the app limits what it receives and how it uses it.
Vueni computes health signals on your iPhone and receives a derived score, never raw health records.
Vueni never sells health data and never uses it for credit, underwriting or advertising.
Apple Watch, Oura and WHOOP data reach Vueni through Apple Health on your iPhone, under the same rules.
Health data is optional. Without it, Vueni still scores purchases from card signals only.
Why a money app wants health data at all
Hard days and big spending can arrive together. A short night, a low heart rate variability (HRV) reading and a late-night order can be part of the same story. Vueni uses body signals to see that story while it is happening, so it can help before stress spending starts.
That reason also sets the limit: Vueni needs to know whether your body looks more strained than usual. It does not need your medical history.
Five questions to ask any app
Before you connect health data to any money app, ask these questions:
What leaves my phone? Raw records, or only a summary?
What is it used for? Could it affect credit, insurance or the ads I see?
Is it sold or shared? With whom, and for what?
Can I say no? Does the app still work without it?
Can I turn it off later? And where do I do that?
The sections below give Vueni’s answers.
What leaves your phone
Vueni reads three signals: sleep, HRV and resting heart rate. It compares each one with your own baseline. That work happens on your iPhone.
Vueni then receives a derived score. For example, it learns that last night’s sleep was about 2 hours below your usual, or that HRV was 18% below your baseline. It never receives raw health records.
What it is used for
Vueni uses derived health signals for one job: to help explain the stress score on a purchase. The signals show up as plain lines, such as “Short sleep” or “HRV down”, so you can see what Vueni saw.
Vueni never uses health data for credit, underwriting or advertising. Vueni never sells it.
Which devices are covered
Vueni reads body signals through Apple Health on your iPhone:
Apple Watch data is already in Apple Health.
WHOOP can sync sleep and resting heart rate into Apple Health, and Oura can sync sleep. Vueni reads them there.
Vueni uses the signals your device provides and leaves any missing signal out of the score. The same rule applies to every source. Signals are computed on your iPhone, and Vueni receives a derived score, never raw records.
Can you say no?
Yes. Health data is optional. If you do not connect Apple Health, Vueni scores purchases from card signals only, such as time of day, category, buying pace and past returns. You still get explained scores and Smart Nudges.
Can you turn it off later?
Yes. On iPhone, Apple Health asks your permission for each type of data. You can change those permissions at any time in the Health app or in your iPhone settings. When you remove access, Vueni can no longer read new signals.
A note on health privacy laws
Many people assume health privacy laws cover every app that touches health data. In the United States, HIPAA covers health care providers, health plans and certain partners. Most consumer apps fall outside it. So the promises an app makes in its own terms matter. Read them, and look for clear limits like the ones above.

Questions
Does Vueni see my raw Apple Health records?
No. Health signals are computed on your iPhone. Vueni receives a derived score, such as how far your sleep fell below your usual, never raw health records.
Does Vueni sell my health data?
No. Vueni never sells health data and never uses it for credit, underwriting or advertising.
Can I use Vueni with an Oura ring or WHOOP?
Yes, on iPhone. WHOOP can sync sleep and resting heart rate into Apple Health, and Oura can sync sleep. Vueni reads them there under the same rules and leaves out any signal your device does not provide.
Vueni is an invite‑only card and account.
