Oura and WHOOP with Vueni

On iPhone, WHOOP syncs sleep and resting heart rate to Apple Health, and Oura syncs sleep. Vueni reads them there and gets a derived score, never raw records.

Key points

  • If you use an iPhone, turn on Apple Health sync in the Oura or WHOOP app, then allow Vueni to read those categories in Apple Health.

  • Vueni uses up to three signals: sleep, heart rate variability and resting heart rate. WHOOP syncs sleep and resting heart rate, and Oura syncs sleep.

  • The signals are computed on your iPhone. Vueni receives a derived score, never your raw health records.

  • Health data is never used for credit, underwriting or advertising, and health signals are optional.

How does wearable data reach Vueni?

Through Apple Health on your iPhone. WHOOP can write your sleep and resting heart rate into Apple Health, and Oura can write your sleep. Vueni then reads those categories from Apple Health, with your permission. Vueni uses the signals your device provides and leaves any missing signal out of the score.

This path keeps one rule for every device. Vueni computes the signals on your iPhone. It receives a derived score, not your raw health records.

Signals from Apple Watch reach Vueni the same way. The Apple Health guide explains how each signal is used in the stress score.

How do you connect Oura or WHOOP?

There are two parts: send your data to Apple Health, then let Vueni read it.

First, turn on Apple Health sync in your device’s app:

  1. Open the Oura or WHOOP app on your iPhone.

  2. Find the Apple Health setting in the app.

  3. Turn on sync, and allow the app to write sleep to Apple Health. In WHOOP, also allow resting heart rate.

Then allow Vueni to read Apple Health:

  1. Open the Vueni app on your iPhone.

  2. Go to your connections and choose Apple Health.

  3. Your iPhone shows the Apple Health permission screen.

  4. Allow Vueni to read sleep, heart rate variability and resting heart rate.

  5. Return to Vueni.

You choose each data type yourself on the Apple Health screen, and you can allow some and not others.

How does Vueni protect your wearable data?

These rules apply to all health data in Vueni, from every device:

  • Signals are computed on your iPhone. Vueni receives a derived score, never raw records.

  • Vueni never uses health data for credit, underwriting or advertising.

  • Vueni never sells health data.

  • You can turn health signals off at any time.

How do you turn it off?

In Vueni, go to your connections and disconnect Apple Health. You can also turn off Vueni’s access in the Health settings on your iPhone. To stop your ring or band writing to Apple Health, turn off sync in the Oura or WHOOP app.

After you turn it off, Vueni scores purchases without health signals.
