Why return windows matter
A stressed purchase is not always a mistake. But when it is, the return window is your second chance. The problem is time. The box arrives, life moves on, and the window closes before you decide.
Vueni keeps the window in view for you. It ties the receipt, the shipment and the return date to the purchase on your card, so they live in one place.
Where the information comes from
Vueni gets order details from your email. You choose how:
Connect your inbox. Vueni works with Gmail, Outlook and iCloud Mail.
Forward receipts. Every member gets a private Vueni address. Forward any receipt there.
Some email providers are not available in every region yet.
How a receipt finds its purchase
Vueni matches each receipt to its card transaction. It compares three things: the amount, the merchant and the time. When they line up, the receipt attaches to the purchase.
After that, the purchase shows more than a merchant code and a total. It shows what you bought, the order number, the shipment and the return terms.
How tracking works
Order and shipping emails often include a tracking number. Vueni picks these up for common carriers, including UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL and Amazon. Each shipment then appears next to its purchase, with its status and expected delivery date.
Say you buy a $64 pair of running shoes late on a Tuesday. The order email arrives a minute later with a FedEx tracking number and the line “Returns accepted within 30 days.” Vueni attaches all of that to the $64 purchase.
How Vueni reads a return window
Return terms come in different forms. Vueni looks for two common ones:
A number of days. For example, “returns within 30 days.”
A date. For example, “return by November 4, 2026.”
From those terms, Vueni works out a return-by date. When the email counts days from delivery, Vueni counts from the order date instead, so the date it shows is a little early and never late.
If an email has no return terms, Vueni does not guess. Check the merchant’s policy for that order.
When you get a reminder
Vueni does not remind you about every purchase. It reminds you when two things are true:
The purchase scored elevated or high on the stress score.
The return-by date is still ahead.
The reminder comes about three days before the window closes. It tells you why: the purchase happened during a stressed moment, and it can still go back until a given date.
In the example, the shoes scored high for stress, so Vueni sets a reminder three days before the return-by date.
What happens when you return it
You make the return with the merchant, using their process. Vueni does not start returns for you.
When the refund reaches your card, Vueni matches it to the original purchase. That history also helps the stress score. A merchant you often return to adds a line called “Returned here before” to future purchases there. It is a small signal that this kind of purchase has led to regret before.
What Vueni does not change
The merchant’s return policy always applies. Some items are final sale. Some merchants charge for return shipping. Some count days from delivery, some from the order. When in doubt, the merchant’s terms win. Vueni keeps the date in front of you.
